Reinforcement in screeding helps to prevent cracking, curling and shrinkage during the drying process. The reinforcement controls and redirects any cracks that may occur. Screed reinforcement comes in two forms either PP fibre or wire mesh reinforcement. Mesh reinforcement is best for sites that have to endure heavy loads and high footfall. Galvanized wire mesh reinforcement is embedded within the screed to improve its strength. It can be combined with other types of screeds to improve the floors performance.
